All Strides programming will focus on the development of the players Individual Skills and Tactics. The five core technical skills will be covered, Skating, Passing and Receiving, Shooting, Puck Handling, and Checking.
Drills and programs will be designed for repetition allowing the player to perform the skill multiple times over the course of their session allowing them to develop the muscle memory necessary to perform the skill in game situations. All programs are designed with the participant’s age and ability in mind. Programs range from team to individual to position specific and even skill specific.
PLAYER TO INSTRUCTOR RATIO
Strides focuses on skill development and with this in mind all Strides programs are limited to fewer numbers creating an ideal teaching and learning environment. Players get lost or sometimes hide in large groups and don’t receive the individualized feedback they require in order to improve. With a high instructor to player ratio and limited players on ice our instructors are able to zero in on the skill and optimize the players learning opportunity.
INDIVIDUALIZED PLAYER FEEDBACK
With small instructor to student ratios all players will receive timely feedback as they perform each skill or tactic on the playing surface. Every drill that’s performed within Strides programs is designed with specific goals and outcomes. After watching the player perform the skill our instructors will identify and properly deliver feedback so it is targeted for the player for immediate results.
QUALIFIED INSTRUCTORS
All Strides instructors and coaches share one thing, Passion for the game. This passion is evident in the way they deliver the Strides programs. All instructors receive opportunities to develop their skills in program delivery and will be placed in specific programs to highlight their strengths and optimize the players learning’s in that specific session.
